Complete Fibre Network Locating Workflow

Complete Fibre Network Locating Workflow

By combining X-Loc Micro for pinpoint detection of blockages within microducts and Rycom locators for tracing the overall duct and cable routes, contractors gain a complete, end-to-end locating solution:

  1. Feed the X-Loc Micro into the microduct to determine exact blockage positions and verify clear paths.
  2. Trace and identify using the Rycom Pathfinder PLS or The Stick V3.
  3. Confirm alignment to reduce excavation uncertainty and ensure efficient fibre installation.

This integrated approach helps minimise project delays, reduce unnecessary digging and improve deployment efficiency ensuring that fibre rollouts stay on schedule and within budget.

Precision Locating Solutions for Fibre Network Deployment

During fibre optic network rollouts (FTTB and FTTH) pipe blockages often prevent fibre cables from being installed, causing delays, extra costs and frustration.

Accurate detection of routes and blockages is key to keeping projects on track.A4 Flyer X-Loc Micro_EN3.png

X-Loc Micro

The X-Loc Micro is designed to locate blockages and routes inside microducts (≥4 mm ID) quickly and precisely.
Its glass fibre profile with integrated copper strands enables localization up to 250 m, or 500 m when used from both ends.
Compact and easy to use, it offers a cost-effective way to verify microduct integrity before fibre installation.

To complement microduct tracing, RYCOM Instruments provides professional-grade locating systems for cables and conduits:

  • Pathfinder PLS – a high-performance locator for precise, long-distance, high-accuracy tracing in complex environments.
  • The Stick V3 – a compact, rugged, and affordable locator for everyday use

Together, the X-Loc Micro and Pathfinder PLS  or The Stick V3 form a complete solution for accurately tracing routes, locating blockages, and improving efficiency during fibre network deployment.
