Common Mode and Differential Mode filtering combined in one compact component

Why this product?
When space is tight and EMC performance is critical, PRAX Power’s integrated CMC + DMC chokes deliver common mode (CM) and differential mode (DM) inductance in a single assembly. By engineering and controlling the leakage inductance of the CM choke, the device inherently provides the DM inductance—eliminating the need for a separate DM choke and reducing size and cost.

  • Up to 25% reduction in size and cost vs. discrete CMC + DMC implementations.
  • Higher power density with fewer magnetic components.
  • High EMC attenuation thanks to optimized magnetic design and nano crystalline core material.

Typical applications

  • Two phase, three phase, and three phase + neutral power systems requiring compact, high performance input/output filtering (e.g., drives, inverters, chargers, power conversion stages).
  • Space constrained systems where a single magnetic component simplifies layout and BOM.

Configurations

  • 2 phase, 3 phase, and 3 phase + neutral variants.

Electrical ranges (typical)

  • DM inductance: up to 30 µH @ 100 kHz.
  • CM inductance: up to 5 mH @ 100 kHz.
  • Rated current: 20–150 A.
  • Rated power: 5–150 kW.
  • CM current handling: up to 3 A without saturation.
  • Working voltage: up to 1000 V.
