NetModule eSIM Functionality

NetModule eSIM Functionality
The Subscriber Idendity Module, better known as SIM-card,  is an integrated circuit used to authenticate and identify subscribers. Over the years it has seen a tremendous evolution with the introduction of the eSIM as latest development.

eSIM stands for embedded SIM and is also known as Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card or eUICC.  Instead of inserting a plastic card into a slot, the eSIM is a chip that reads out the information.

NetModule has launched the NG800 Router that includes this novelty. However, also other routers offer this feature as an option. Check the table below to see if your model of choice also supports eSIM:

There are a number of benefits from both an operational-  and service/maintenance perspective. The buzz word 'flexibility' summarizes these benefits best, but below we will see what we exactly mean by that.

Manage remotely
With eSIM there is no need to go on site or bring in the vehicles to perform maintenance or change the SIM cards. This will reduce operating costs (man hours and down time) and at the same time is less prone to error. Should there be an issue with the card? It can be solved from a remote location with the NetModule Router Software.

Multiple SIM profiles
Depending on your setup, it is possible to configure up to 7 profiles. Each with their own characteristics so that you can adjust your subscription to match your operational needs.

Dynamic Enablers (beta)
Although it is not out on the market yet, eSIM offers the chance to change plans based upon a variety of dynamic factors such as time or location. That way you can guarantee the best possible coverage at all times or switch between busy or quiet moments.

Your local product expert at Heynen can explain more about the eSIM-functionality and even help you with queries regarding installation. Therefore, do not hesitate to contact them for more information below.
