Steady Studer deal for Dutchview

Professional media processing solution supplier Heynen and leading multimedia company DutchView have concluded a long-term deal on the supply of Studer audio consoles, confirming the high-ranking position of Studer mixing consoles in the Dutch broadcast field.

DutchView, with a fleet of six fully fledged outside broadcast vans, three audio vans and 14 studios in Hilversum and Amsterdam, is a Dutch market leader in television broadcasting. The company provides recording and processing facilities, technical support, internet productions and creative services such as graphics for various broadcast productions and (business) events.

DutchView uses a Studer Vista 8 in its HD broadcast mobile and recently installed a Vista 5 in its new Studio Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam, the home of popular TV programmes such as De Wereld Draait Door and Pauw & Witteman. With three new 3D-ready HD recording vans being built, DutchView will install two Studer Vista 9 desks and one Vista 5. "We decided to consolidate our commitment with Studer because of the excellent user-friendliness and high quality of the products, which fit our new production concept very well. The constant upgrading of Studer equipment is exactly what we're aiming for in our new broadcast vans, and efficiency is a key element here. Our audio engineers like to work with Studer – the user-interface allows them to concentrate on production," comments Herman Julsing, technical manager with DutchView.

With audio consoles becoming more and more complex systems combining hardware and software, and Studer desks having a modular configuration, Julsing values the local support from Heynen. "Working with these high-end consoles requires specialised support and specific audio skills, knowledge of software updates and back-up procedures. We have acquired quite some experience in working with Studer and share our knowledge. Just recently we set up a seminar and demo for Vista 8 in Brussels – we're very happy working with Heynen," adds Julsing.

Heynen CEO Lennart Heijnen comments: "DutchView applies the highest standards to its productions. This means that its audio engineers are asking the most of the equipment they choose to work with in terms of audio quality and support of workflows. The Studer Vista consoles give them just that. To Heynen this deal is another peak in the close to 50-year relationship with Studer and Dutch broadcasters."
